Acclaimed singer Kate Dimbleby has been touring her 'Sing Your Song' workshop around Breckland's libraries in the first series of Silver Social workshops for 2018.
This week, residents welcomed Kate into their local library (Dereham, Swaffham, Attleborough, Watton and Thetford) as she invited them to try a brand new workshop, exploring the voice in a relaxed group setting, without the fear of making mistakes.
Kate's easy manner soon banished any shyness from the room and her infectious laugh ensured everyone had a great time making noises and exploring songs - some even made up their own language!
During the session, Kate explained that her love of singing is rooted in her famous family's broadcasting background, many of whom remember hearing her Grandfather, Richard, on the TV and radio when they were young. Kate went on to demonstrate the use of a vocal looper to build layers of sound and everyone enjoyed a half time tea break to chat to Kate and with each other - a great time was had by all.
