A Hollywood Extravaganza with Glass House Dance

Last week residents took part in Glass House Dance’s ‘Dance & Social’ workshop at libraries throughout the district, singing and dancing along to some of Hollywood’s greatest musicals!

As a group we discussed our favourite musicals moments and then re-enacted them. We gently warmed up with a routine to Oklahoma’s ‘Oh What a Beautiful Morning’ followed by a hand-jiving game along to the Grease soundtrack. We found our feet and twirled along in pairs to the King and I’s ‘Shall we dance.’ By the end of the workshop, some were confident enough to don top hats, grab a cane and learn a simple Charleston step to Fred Astaire’s ‘Top Hat, White Tie and Tails.’

The Silver Social had a fantastic time sharing this experience with Breckland residents and would like to thank Glass House Dance for this wonderfully inclusive workshop and also to thank the libraries in Thetford, Dereham, Swaffham, Attleborough and Watton for being part of the show!
