The Silver Social is an exciting new programme of daytime arts events in the heart of Norfolk, promoting engagement and participation among older people in rural communities.
Managed by Breckland Council and with funding from the National Lottery Arts Council strategic touring fund, Silver Social brings 'something a little different' to daily life in rural Breckland - in the form of creative workshops and live performances. Events are held in community venues in the market towns - Dereham, Swaffham, Thetford, Attleborough, Watton and target villages: Ashill, Necton, Shipdham, Mattishall and Harling. The Project works with partners Creative Arts East, Norfolk Library Services, Norfolk Museums Service, Breckland Older People's Forum and Norfolk County Council Public Health.
If you want to meet new people within your community, watch or participate in a range of different activities or you know a friend, neighbour or family member who might like to try something new, Silver Social offers high quality, accessible arts based activities within a friendly familiar space.
There are also volunteering opportunities for those who want to be a valuable part of the Silver Social, supporting artists at sessions and helping to spread the word of upcoming events. For more details, email: email@example.com
